BELLAGIO LAS VEGAS ATTRACTIONS

Cirque du Soleil

O Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio Las Vegas

"O" at Bellagio Las Vegas pays homage to the magic of the theatre from the simplest street performance to the most lavish of operas where anything is possible and where the drama of life plays itself out. Inspired by the elusive concept of infinity and the purity of water, O combines synchronized swimmers, acrobats, clowns, and fire. This is one of Las Vegas' top-rated shows. All of the action takes place in, on, and above a humongous water tank, aided by machinery and top-level technology.

All of the seating options are good... the first rows are right up against the tank, where waves and splashes are frequent. Aside from getting soaked, close onlookers get to experience the details of the show, like the tiny droplets of water that run down an acrobats' arms, or the deep breath a performer takes just before she dives back in, or the brilliant smile flashed person-to-person at the end of the show. Guests seated higher up will be able to observe more of the O Theatres' complicated machinery in action, as the stage is transformed time after time, and trapeze artists cavort on high-tech perches.

Interesting: Every cast member is SCUBA certified. Each swimmers' costume only survives for a maximum of 20 shows, and some performers have multiples of the same costume, to appear fresh and dry again after having taken a dive. Every seat in the audience is equipped with its own heater, so the water tank and stage can be kept at a higher temperature while each onlooker remains comfortable. The main tank is equipped with a communication system and devices that allow divers to breathe while submerged.

The Botanical Gardens

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Changing with every season, the Botanical Gardens at Bellagio are one of the primary reasons to visit. Created by the largest full-service event company in America, MGM Mirage Events, the gardens overflow with spectacular displays that merge plant life with statues, structures, ornaments, figures, and art. Each new display is a never-before seen show of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Take pictures, because when the next season rolls around, the current garden will never be seen again. Past vignettes have included mini Mount Rushmore, kindly talking trees, paper-mache ferris wheels, oversized baby birds, floating watering cans, Chinese New Year's dolls, the Bellagio itself done in 1/100th scale, and always flowers, flowers, flowers. These are botanical gardens, after all, and the area always overflows with life, whether it's creeping vines, sculpted hedges, spiraling trees, or exploding Ivy.

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art Las Vegas

Las Vegas' finest art gallery changes its exhibit twice a year, but always offers something world-class. Past displays have featured Picasso, Van Gogh, and Roy Lichtenstein. The many artists who contributed to CityCenter have been displayed as well. It's not a large gallery, just one room displaying an intimate collection of 20-40 works, but the size enables the Bellagio to aquire famous and beautiful collections.
