The restaurant portion of the Cathouse has closed,as of May 2010. The entire 7,000 square foot space is now devoted to the ultra lounge aspect of Cathouse.
The Cathouse at Luxor Hotel & Casino is alounge first, a nightclub second, a burlesque show third and a venue for sexy performance art. It's also a celebrity hangout, a showcase for vintage erotica, and a lingerie line.
The nineteenth-century bordello aesthetic draws guests in with rich red felts, heavy furniture, seductive lighting, and old-fashioned racy photos and paintings on the walls. The entry leads patrons to a staircase lit with old-fashioned chandeliers, adding to a feeling of secrecy and exclusivity.
Servers wear lingerie, and every half-hour of so a glass box lights up, revealing an underwear-clad model in her budoir. She'll put on makeup, read, or otherwise lounge for a few minutes until the lights go out. Dancing and burlesque shows happen on the raised stage in the center, and vistors are sometimes invited to participate.
The Cathouse adds to the nightlife attraction of the Luxor, sharing the allure of this Las Vegas hotel casino property with Aurora Bar, Noir Bar and Lax Nightclub.
