Burt Reynolds, who introduced the honoree, said, “Durning is the best actor in the business today.”
Durning has countless memorable roles to his credit and has played a wide range of characters. He continues to display professional determination. Earlier, when he was told over and over again that he did not have what it takes to become an actor, he proved to all those so-called experts that they were wrong and he was right. The fans and peers in his revered Guild agree. |
