| Tour Description: |
Extreme heat, extreme dryness and the lowest point in the United States mark the superlative distinctions of Death Valley National Park. Our journey will skirt these extremes and embrace them--for a visit here is to face these elements. There is no place on earth like Death Valley.
Our day can include hiking among sand dunes, sandstone and the shadows of Shoshone on any of a number of hiking trails, stopping at vista points, a museum visit, back country drives with our four-wheel drive van, or just roaming the valley floors' awesome landscape. You'll have 4-5 hours to explore this land of extremes wheere you can imagine yourself crossing this valley in an earlier era.
Our small tour groups allow for flexibility in sightseeing and active options that will engage your senses. Your guide will assist in your journey to discover some of the wonders of Death Valley and its National Park resources. These include the museum and visitor center, Furnace Creek Ranch, and the many hiking trails this backcountry offers. Due to the size of the park actual itineraries can vary based on the interests of the groups.
Death Valley National Park is located 145 miles northwest of Las
Vegas (about a 3 hour drive) and it is open all year. Weather conditions and sights vary depending on the season. If you are lucky enough to visit the park just after a rainfall the Wildflower displays can be astonishing. Unfortunately these ephemeral concerts of color are difficult to experience. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, we hope you'll be impressed with the grandeur of Death Valley. (Because the weather is deadly between May and September we only offer this tour from October-May.) |
