Encore Las Vegas Spa

The spa at Encore Las Vegas

Overall Spa Quality

The reception area of Encore's spaHere are the things that are wrong with the Spa at Encore:

  • It's not gargantuan, like the spa at the Venetian.
  • And some of the technology controlling the lockers and showers might confuse a brain fogged by relaxation.

That's it. That's the bad news. The spa can't even really be faulted on price. A day pass costs $30... much less than the spa at Green Valley Ranch. A 50-minute massage costs $160... less than a massage at Mandarin Oriental, a spa of at least equal quality. Guests of the Encore expect to spend some fairly serious money, so if the cost to spend the day in one of Las Vegas' best spas comes as a suprise at all, it's a good suprise.

The spa isn't small, it's just smaller than some of the mammoth properties competing up and down the Strip. Each room is spacious and peaceful, and the only time a guest will have the chance to feel cramped is in one of the locker rooms on a busy day. Instead of one cavernous space, the locker rooms are divided into nooks that foster a sense of privacy and ownership. When shared with two, three, or four other half-naked people, however, the effect backfires into one of uncomfortable closeness.

No one complains about the way things look. The Encore hotel suffers from some overkill in the design, with a little too much red, plush opulence. Not so the spa. The Eastern-inspired, Turkish-fused spaces are harmonious to the extreme. The entrance has been well thought out to transport visitors into the rarefied, peaceful space.

The tubs and pools at the Encore spa.The Little Things:
Bottles of water in the hall. Waterfall shower, with water coming from the ceiling. Plush towels. Tepidarium. Magazines and newspapers. Fresh fruit and nuts. Herbal teas with tiny honey jars. Digital personal lockers. Natural light over hot tubs. Computer-controlled wall of showers. Cold compresses. Cucumber slices. Blowdryers. Curling irons. Hair spray, shampoo, conditioner. Baby powder. Deodorant. Headphones at the gym. Each machine has it's own TV and ipod dock.

Massages

Fusion Massage - Each individual guest is assessed, then Techniques from every massage discipline are fused into a custom treatment. As no two people are alike, no two fusion massages are alike.

Expectant Mother Massage - Research and experience have created a therepy focused on expectant mothers in their second or third trimesters. The special conditions of women in this hopeful phase are met with gentle rubdowns and oils thick with Omega 3.

The spa offers several different types of massages.Head, Hands and Feet Therapy Massage - The extremities of our bodies see more activity and abuse than the midsection, and this treatment has been created to care for them. First, hands and feet are relaxed in a warm paraffin bath while the head is attended to. Then each finger and toe will be soothed and restored.

Aromatherapy Massage - Each guest makes their own oil selection, choosing from a menu of deeply-thought-out blends. Each choice will change the focus of the massage, from renewal and vigour to relaxation and peace.

Desert Stone Massage - Without the stones, recipients might float away. Hydrating body butter melts and traces each muscle down the back, carrying stress and angst with it. Basalt stones provide constant radiant heat and balance.

Thai Oil Fusion Massage - Thai stretching is followed with enriching oils for an energizing massage. Recipients leave with new bodies.

Four Hand Massage - If one therapist is good, why not two? Massage artists work in harmony to find every spark of tension and eliminate it. Profound quality time for the harried.

Encore Express Massage - Though the word "massage" should never be combined with the word "express," sometimes needs dictate plans. Designed for those suffering with specific areas of the body, the Encore Express will quickly root out the stress and provide relief.
