My wife and I went to the west rim went there about 3 years ago and it was fabulous less commercial no fences just wide open and not many people it was like going back in time, this year we went having heard about the skywalk and the skywalk is interesting but, too get too it you have to buy a tour and then buy a add on ticket so the entire tour to walk onto the bridge is 67.00 a person once there they have you go thru 2 seperate security gates to ensure that you don't have a came so if you want a photo you have to buy it from them. they use the excuse they are worried that you will drop something and disturb the nature of the canyon or break the bridge(its 7 inches of teller glass).however the only things they take are cellphones w/cameras and cameras i tired to give them my keys and other items in my pocket and was told that didn't matter. the other 2 stops are a ranch which is fake building around a corral to see ponies and the other spot Guanno point they put a cantina and table right up on the point to spoil any real good view also they charge you 20 dollars just to park. and the official tour speech tells you nothing about the area lucky the tour drivers go off script to tell you interesting facts of the area. all in all avoid the place avoid at all costs unless you like being fleeced. 3 years ago it was fabulous and very enjoyable to go out to the canyon there and just explore now thats gone stay away
