Frank Caliendo

frank_caliendo_impressions_600

One of the best impressionists ever to come to Las Vegas, Frank Caliendo keeps a well-stocked arsenal of celebrities at his fingertips. George W, Bill Clinton, and Charles Barkely kick off a show full of dead ringer after dead ringer. Hilarious bits, like John Madden giving the play-by-play of a Super Mario Bros. game, or Kermit the Frog being represented by just a hand, keep the audience in stitches.

Those familiar with Frank Caliendo might expect him to dress the part of each celebrity, as he does in promotional photos like this one. No such luck. Except for a brief portion of the show involving wigs, Frank carries each impersonation with expression and voice alone. It's remarkable that he can pull it off with such a restricted array of tools, but at the same time, some fans leave a little disappointed that they didn't get to see John Madden, in suit and tie, shouting about sprites with all of his fervor. But no matter, it's not the clothes that make the man in this show. Frank makes the man, and makes him hilarious.
