Moon Nightclub
Remember what the future looked like in the eighties? Lot's of lasers, metal, dark corners, swooping furniture built out ot space-age materials, and every woman in sight young, beautiful, and wrapped in skin-tight clothes?
The future is now. Welcome to moon.
The N9Ne group, which operate every club in the Palms casino, has built a stunning nightclub high above the Las Vegas Strip. The flashing lights and alien design of sci-fi movies fill the club. Imagine remaking the Death Star into a night spot and bar, and you're close. Gigantic picture windows with a view of the Strip line the walls, edging the scenery up by at least a few points. The club isn't huge by Vegas standard, but it's big, and the dance floor is comfortable.
Lines form early, but unlike the anarchy that seems to be de rigeur at so many nightclubs, the line is civilised, and you will make it in eventually. It's just a matter of time. Guests using bottle service can count on security guards keeping an eye on their table while away, and given the excitable nature of the dance floor, and the right-next-door proximity of the Playboy club, the watchdog service is invaluable.
Perhaps the best thing about Moon nightclub? When the dance floor grows so crowded that partygoers can actually see steam rising, the ceiling will open to the stars, letting in gusts of fresh air and starlit galaxies. The view into space just might be the main influence on this writer's assertion that the club is one big eighties sci-fi movie.
