Music and fashion icon Prince was by all accounts a game changer. His early influences included James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Little Richard which were very evident in his style, music and performance. Less evident is the influence that he's had on popular culture. Although small in stature Prince was bigger than life. Much like MJ, he was often soft spoken and intraverted publically. It was on the stage that he was a giant. I'm certain that history will count Prince as one of the most influential figures of our time.
I was priveldged to see him perform at a tribute to George Harrison some years back. In true Prince form he did not make rehearsal. In fact, he showed up late to the actual taping itself! The rest of the All-Star Band had already begun the song as he sauntered in (off camera) to the stage. He plugged in his guitar and tuned it. I then watched him quickly learn the song by watching which chords the other musicians were playing. Then it was his turn to solo. I don't want to ruin it. Please do yourself a favor and watch it for yourself.
