First things first: All buffets were not created equal. You've got your high
end buffets and your mid level buffets and your barely count as food buffets. The
Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin (soon to be Planet Hollywood) sits somewhere just
between the mid level and high end sections. It's a little pricy for families as
an all the time thing but the value is still there as the food was very good as was
the service.
There are some very unique aspects of the Spice Market Buffet that
make it quite enjoyable when you're just not sure exactly what it is that you're
hungry for. The Mediterranean section offers some very tasty entrees and side
dishes that are not found at many other buffets. The lamb stuffed tomatoes are
delightful and the skewered chicken is also very good. The Italian section offers
the standard fare of pasta etc. and it also is good.
The sushi in the seafood
section earns a high grade here and the dessert section should win an award as it is
special. The wide variety of good food makes up for the less than perfect location and the
cleanliness and good service are also plusses. The Spice Market Buffet seems well
run and organized and is well lit with comfortable uncrowded seating. I would
imagine that if you go there once that you will go there again.
