LasVegas.Net Presents 'A Warehouse Collective'Posted By Mike Young - 05/07/16
Most visitors to Las Vegas are completely unaware that our community has a rich art and cultural history. This is celebrated each month as the Downtown Art District comes alive for 'First Friday'. First Friday is a monthly art festival that offers local artists and businesses an opportunity to showcase their latest creations or antiquities.
Last Friday LasVegas.Net sponsored a 'A Warehouse Collective' at the Metroplex Corner Building located in the heart of the Art District It showcased a one of a kind collection of Studio 54 memorobilia that was rescued from a recycling plant that was poised to destroy it. ForPlay womens apparel displayed one of a kind costumes normally reserved for superstars such as Brittany and Beyonce and local artist Janel created a collection of original paintings and photographs specifically for the event. Several of these pieces were sold. There was also a raffle where 5 lucky individuals won original Studio 54 art, ForPlay apparel, and tickets to 'Fantasy' the show at Luxor.
The beautiful women of Fantasy were kind enough to make an appearance in support of the Shade Tree organization and Chef Lucky Thai donated her time and delectible edible creations as well.
The event was very successful and prompted all involved to recommit to the next First Friday on June 3rd. Admission is free. There will be another raffle. Janel will be offering a brand new collection of original art and Chef Lucky Thai will be offering food and drinks. All donations will benefit The Shade Tree organization.Tags for this post:
