Encore Las Vegas Entertainment, Nightclubs, and Bars
Surrender/Encore Beach Club
Beautiful like the rest of the Encore, Surrender has a gorgeous interior and a better exterior. The pool area is large, with narrow walkways splitting the water and cabanas everywhere the eye can see. The inside part of the club is surprisingly small and jam-packed with tables, with a tiny dance floor that may not be worth the struggle to find. If dancing happens, it happens in the rows between tables and in front of the bar. It's kind of an inverted XS... plenty of room outside, hardly any inside. Poles dominate both spaces... if there are no strippers on them, can they be called stripper poles? Atheletic go-go dancers are always on hand to make use of the equipment.
Surrender is a great dance club to visit... as long as visitors tell themselves they're going to an ultra lounge instead. Anone going purely to dance will be disappointed. The dance floor is too small, the aisles are too crowded, the walkways over the pools are too narrow, and dancing is not allowed in the pool or on the lily-pad shaped mini islands. Perhaps this will change in the future, but for now Surrender is best viewed as a trendy, expensive hang-out spot.
They call it a "boutique" nightclub, which in this context means "small." The baby cousin of medium-sized Tryst and the much larger XS , Blush Nightclub is closer to a lounge in size, but a cover charge is required and a DJ stays on duty all the time. The music is usually a blend of house, hip-hop, and top 40, depending on the tastes of the DJ.
Blush is beautiful, overhung with 300 lanterns that pulse in time with the beat. The dance floor is onyx lit, and a tiny outdoor patio grants access to fresh desert air. Most of the seats are fitted with small drawers, to secure purses or personal effects. Individual lockers are also available.
Dress Code: Casual chic. Jeans and nice t-shirts are allowed, but not if they are oversized or baggy. No hats, no atheletic clothes.

Tryst's five years open may not be a lot in other cities, but in Las Vegas it's bordering on being a classic, up for inclusion in the registry of historic places. The Strip changes fast, and the nightclubs change faster. The most happening club of ninteen-ninety-whatever isn't even a consideration now. So Tryst is enjoying a long season of remaining the tried-and-true place to go for upscale Vegas fun, while not being the new, experimental kid on the block any more (a mantle now worn by XS).
Tryst covers 12,000 square feet, some of it inside, some of it open-air. The main room with the biggest dance floor is covered, but it opens up into a wide patio overlooking a 90-foot, dramatically lit waterfall. Table and chairs, dance poles, and beatiful people abound, and the wait times and the crowds can increase quickly around the weekends and holidays.
Dress Code: Upscale clubwear. No wrinkled t-shirts, hats, or baggy clothing will be allowed.

Currently the largest, and possibly the most beautiful club at the Encore, XS has been an emperor of the nightclub scene since its opening. Plenty of space for dancing, drinking, and flirting is provided.
XS , like Tryst, begins indoors but then opens up into a wide deck encircling a swimming pool. The water isn't deep, and splashing and frolicing is encouraged. Probably the most popular nightclub at the moment on the central Strip, lines and wait times can be long.
Dress Code: Upscale clubwear only.

Botero Bar
The bar set in Botero. Bartenders are deeply schooled in cocktail culture, making the Botero bar a fine place to learn about the staggering variety of mixed drinks available from international influences. It's a small place, more for diners awaiting tabls and friends then for revelers looking for a night out. Be sure to get a look at the artistic bottle display over the bar.
Eastside Lounge
Located next to the XS nightclub, the Eastside lounge is a perfect pre-entry spot to watch the clubgoers line up. As bars in Las Vegas stay open all night or close to it, it is also a perfect spot to watch the clubgoers stumble back out in the early, early morning. Many party people who find themselve to tired, too poor, or to impatient to actually enter the club will create their party right here.
Island Bar
The Island Bar floats between two (2!) topless-optional swimming pools, and has regions to swim up, areas to sit, and even enough space to eat. Open seasonally like the pool, the hours are 8am - 7pm. Enjoy drinks, lounging, swimming, and sunbathing topless. Las Vegas is becoming one of the most topless-friendly cities in the country, ant the Island Bar is one of the best places on the Strip to enjoy that freedom.
Southside Bar
Classic sports watching, beer loving, encyclopedic cocktail knowing bartenders and patrons will love this side of the Encore. It's a peacefull, relaxing bar... until someone scores a goal, a run, or a basket. Then it gets lively for a while. It's a pretty simple bar, but a simple bar done Encore style, with plenty of bold red decor and harmonious colors everywhere.
Switch Bar
A companion to the fabulous and mesmerizing Switch restaurant, the Switch bar is a fun place to wait for a table, or just people-watch. The bartenders are knowledgeable, and since every bar throughout the Wynn and Encore is carefully schooled in crafting drinks consistently, a clever cocktail from the Parasol Up lounge will taste just the same here.
