Nightclubs and Lounges at the Luxor

LAX

LAX nightclub at the Luxor Las Vegas.

LAX nightclub grows crowded quickly

Among the hottest clubs of recent years, LAX has begun to wane in the shadow of new clubs opening at the Wynn and Encore. Still, it's in the Luxor, on the South Strip, and it gets packed with warm bodies night after night. The decor is plush and fancy, rich with red and purple fabrics. Plenty of promoters scurry around close to the Luxor handing out passes, so keep an eye out and free admission is possible. The lines can get reasonably long, with waits up to an hour.

Music is usually a crowd-pleasing top 40 mix, with older favorites scattered throughout.

CatHouse

The Cathouse, a restaurant, club, and burlesque show.

A restaurant, a club, a burlesque show, and a performance space, the CatHouse defies conventional explenation. Go the the CatHouse main page to understand more.

Noir Bar

The Noir Bar, an expensive, upscale bar in Luxor. Accessible through LAX.

The bar located within LAX nightclub, but with a separate entrance, can be harder to get into than anything at the Luxor. The Noir Bar is expensive, exclusive, and very pleasant. Anyone dancing at LAX will feel the need to sit down, a practice forbidden by the nightclub's staff, and the Noir Bar's seats are the most comfortable in the world after a hard night's exercise.

Many of the drinks here are unique creations mixed from upscale, hard-to-get liquers, and come with upscale, had-to-reach price tags. $20 and up is the norm rather than the exeption. But the drinks are good, and where else is a peanut-butter-and-jelly martini to be found?

Bars at the Luxor

Aurora

The beautifl Aurora bar at Luxor Hotel and Casino.

An open and available hotel bar, Aurora serves upscale drinks at reasonable (for Vegas) prices. Pedestrians generally stop on their way to somewhere else and enjoy $10 drinks in a friendly atmosphere. The bar is located close to the front desk, making it a convenient place to meet friends.

Liquidity

The gorgeous, water-themed Liquidity bar in the Luxor.

The central bar in the Luxor's casino is Liquidity, a beautiful place to by drinks and relax in one of three lounge areas. The music isn't too loud and the drinks aren't too expensive. Everything is immersed in cool aqua and teal colors. The main focus is the elegant waterfall behind the bar, which changes colors and patterns as light is projected on it. TV screens lower from time to time, providing patrons with views of the game of the moment.

Flight

Flight, the gaming bar at Luxor.

Flight at the Luxor is a bar all about games. Video poker is available at almost every bar stool, and couples Blackjack tables fill the area. Plasma screens display sports all around. It's not a sports book, so don't expect to be placing wagers on the spot, but it is a pleasant place to watch the action. Flight offers a few specialty drinks. Ask for a Mojito and expect fresh sugar can in the glass.

High Bar

The high Bar, next to the high stakes tables in the Luxor's casino.

Having inherited its name from the neighboring high-stakes tables, the High Bar should have unreasonably expensive drinks. Not so. The High Bar will charge around $12 for a cocktail and almost $6 for a beer, which is considered downright cheap on the South Strip. It does make a great venue from which to watch high rollers at the Luxor win and lose their shirts.

Playbar

The Playbar, next to the sports book in the Luxor Casino.

The Luxor's best bar to enjoy football, baseball, basketball, and everything in between, Playbar is right next to the sports book. Gamblers can watch bet on and watch just about any game happening.
