Dolphin Trainer for a Day at the Mirage

If you've ever wanted to be a Dolphin trainer of even swim with the Dolphins, then the Mirage has just the thing for you. The Trainer for a Day program is an awesome addition to the Las Vegas Hotels' amenities. You won't find anything else close to this on the Las Vegas Strip. This up close and personal journey will put you in the Dolphins world as you interact and learn the ways of a Dolphin trainer. You'll work side by side with one of the Mirage's expert specialists as they guide you through the all day process of or learning to be a dolphin trainer.

Your activities for the day include:

-Playing with the Dolphins

-Learning to be a trainer

-Getting in the water with the Dolphins

-Learning how to care for the family of Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins

Once you sign up for the experience, you'll be assigned a locker that contains a wetsuit, towel, dive mask and sunscreen. You'll also receive shower amenities, a souvenir polo shirt, souvenir ball cap, a complimentary 8x10 photo, a cd containing all of the photos taken during your adventure, a continental breakfast, and a three course lunch.

The minimum requirements to participate in this unique experience are:

• You have to be 13 years of age or older
• You must be able to follow specific instructions given by the Animal Care Staff
• You must be able to move freely and comfortable in the water to be able to move around the animal as instructed while in you wet suit
• You must be able to handle the different weather conditons as it may be hot, humid, windy or produce torrential rainfall
• You must be prepared to be around large marine animals. Although the Dolphins are trained for interactions, as wild animals, their behaviors may still be unpredictable

The price of the experience is $550 per person and you're allowed to have up to two observers to share the day with. Each observer's cost is $150.

Mirage Secret Garden VIP Tour

The legendary Tiger training duo of Siegfried and Roy has given a most wonderful addition to the Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Come and take a tour of Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat to learn the wonders found within. You'll be taken on a VIP guided tour of the Garden and learn what goes into training and caring for the dolphins and exotic white lions and tigers of Siegfried and Roy.

Only three tours per day are conducted with a limit of five persons per group and three groups per tour. Tours are strongly recommended to be scheduled and late comers will not be allowed to join the tour.

The Aquarium at The Mirage

Located right behind the Mirage front desk, the 20,000 gallon saltwater aquarium is still one of the hotels most popular attractions. Newly remodeled, the aquarium was redesigned by several aquarium design experts collaborating with one another to design and introduce one of the most elaborate and technically advanced aquariums in the world today!

The saltwater haven is now home to almost 1,000 specimens and features artificial corals that put you in the mind frame of the globaly popular Australian Great Barrier Reef. At least 60 of the species that currently reside inside the 20,000 square foot aquatic monster come from Austalia, Hawaii, Tonga, the Red Sea, the Marshall Islands, the Sea of Cortez, and the Caribbean. All were sepecialy chosen for their ability to adapt to both the environment and other species.
