New Hotel Casino Opening
The Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino has opened and is in full swing. Locals and tourist will enjoy The Art Bar which will feature local artist. The Art Bar specializes in Specialty cocktails such as the Googgen, made with Nob Creek Bourbon, Grand Maunier with fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice. In the casino, there's the Mansion Chinese Restaurant which offers authentic Chinese cuisine, and also serves some fusion dishes by Executive Chef Derrick.
The outside exterior of Downtown Grand is a blend of multiple store fronts with brick and granite facades. Inside, is the restored original Cat Walk used by security in the era of Lady Luck. The new hotel-casino has created 600 jobs. Downtown Grand Las Vegas is owned by CM Group and managed by Downtown Grand Las Vegas Managers LLC. Fifth Street Gaming which is the property gaming licensee and casino operator. The future story will be available after November the 12, when the ribbon cutting for the grand opening occurs.
Professional Bull Riders Sell Out At Thomas and Mack
The Professional Bull Riders embarked on Las Vegas recently and celebrated their 10-year Anniversary. Over the 10 year period there has been 500 million dollars given out to some of the top athletes in the world. This year's world champion went to J B Mauney of Mooresville, North Carolina who received a high marked of 95.25, beating out Silvano Alves of Decatur, Texas who has a score of 91.25.Mauney won 1.5 million for the 5-day event.
The ABBI World Finals (American Bucking Bull Inc.) is the largest bucking cattle registry in the world. Over 160,000 animals are registered in its database. They are also the largest competitive bucking bull organization for professional stock contractors and animal athletes.
National Hot Rod Dragsters Toyota Nationals Hit Las Vegas Speedway
The NHRA Toyota Nationals had a sold out crowd on October 25th-27th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedways Strip. Anton Brown of Brownsburg, Indiana won his second win for the World Champion in Top Fuel with a speed of 324.51 at an ET of 3.782. In the Funny Car division John Force of Yorba Linda, California beat out his daughter Courtney Force also of Yorba Linda, California at 310.63 with an ET of 4.06. Courtney Force had an ET of 4.085 at 319.22. Pro Stock division had Shane Gray of Denver, North Carolina win in his 2013 Camaro with an ET of 6.699 at 310.63 mph. Pro Stock Motorcycle went to Matt Smith of King, North Carolina with an ET of 6.991 at 192.08.
Alexis De Joria, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, made it to the semifinals with an ET of 3.118 at 309.63. Her first run was an ET of 4.084 at 312.71.Celebrity Scene News spoke to Alexis about her run and her endorsement of Breast Cancer Gram Mobile, which was located in front of her pit. Life Is Beautiful
Organizers of the Life Is Beautiful seem to be quite happy with the festival that was held on October 26th and 27th, in downtown Las Vegas. A total of 60 bands performed on various stages, with the top names such as The Killers, Kings of Leon, and Vampire Wicked among many others. Performers from Mystere, Michael Jackson One, Zumanity, Human Nature, Recycled Percussion and Million Dollar Quartet were just a few of the acts that performed.
One of the future highlight of Life Is Beautiful is "Rise Above," an electric and permanent street art program that will give downtown Las Vegas a creative look. In addition to the music acts and strip performers, Executive Chefs Kerry Simon, Carlaa Pellegreno, Jet Tila Hubert Keller and so many more gave on stage demonstrations. Considering that festivals cost more than $150.00 for a two-day event, Life Is Beautiful gave tourist and locals a fair shake, even with food and drinks over and above the cost of admission. The attendance for the two day festival was said to be over 30,000 in attendance.
